Aromatherapy for Healthy Living

Holistic healing using essential oils to reduce everyday stressors and toxins.
The Silent Killer that Surrounds Us Everyday
We’re a stressed out society operating in a fast-paced world. The normal daily stressors we face have been magnified by the pandemic, disproportionately affecting our lifestyles, jobs, finances, and other areas of our lives. Stress is closely linked to illness and disease. Perhaps it has negatively affected you or someone you love? Maybe you have noticed more-stress related conditions in your practice?

Are you aware of the amplified volume of chemicals and synthetics you are exposed to in both your workplace and home?

Chemicals exist in our air, food, water, and health products. Our patients, and maybe we ourselves, are taking medications composed of chemical substances. Often, there are side effects of these medications, requiring more medications or adjustments to keep the body in balance.

What damage is being done to your health and immune system with repeated toxic exposure?
We know for a fact that there is an increased number of people being diagnosed with immune-compromised conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and cancer.

Many of our patients and clients are aware of these concerns, so they have incorporated essential oils and supplements as part of their health plan. Unfortunately, they are often obtaining poor quality products.

Most essential oils contain additives or synthetics that may actually add to the toxic overload in the body!

You know over the counter supplements and medications may interfere with a plan by enhancing or reducing the effects of medications or treatments. Implementing a thoughtful plan of care may be challenging when you are not familiar with essential oil action or their quality. Besides that, you have far better things to do with your time than research all of this information!

The Solution May Be Adding to the Toxic Overload Problem
Where do most of our patients and clients search for information to manage their symptoms or side effects? That’s right, the Internet!! Many people have shared that surfing the web only digs them deeper into confusion; they wind up ordering out of frustration or using products that someone (unqualified) recommended.

The use of aromatherapy is becoming very popular. There are well meaning people intending to help those who are suffering, but their recommendations often do more harm than good. We have patients bringing in bags of supplements and essential oils that they have integrated into their plan. This is dangerous! It may interfere with their existing treatment plan in addition to increasing the toxic overload in their body!
CAUTION: Essential Oils Have Reactive Constituents Just Like Prescription Medications

During a routine visit to a patient receiving chemotherapy, she told me that she used peppermint oil internally under her tongue to give her more energy!

What?! I was shocked!

Calmly, I asked where she received this recommendation and if she had discussed it with her provider. As it turned out, the information came from a friend and she had not informed anyone since they were only “harmless” essential oils!

Has this type of interaction happened to you – coming upon consequential information by chance?! Sometimes this is intentional because a patient doesn’t want to hear about any possible negative reactions. There is also a common and concerning misconception that over-the-counter means safe. As such, the patient does not even think to let their provider know that they are taking these products. I have seen reactions that lead to more problems than benefits. Genuine quality essential oils contain naturally occurring chemical constituents that can act like medications. So, we should be using them with caution.

As an RN and certified clinical aromatherapist, the safety and correct practice of essential oils are my top priority.

This is the main cause for creation of the online course, Essential Oils for Healthy Living. All of the pertinent research has been conducted and incorporated into this course for you. It will give you the confidence you need to share with others, using an expedited and simplified delivery.

Facing My Own Health Challenge

About 10 years ago, I was facing a health challenge that involved skin irritation and lab values leading to a diagnosis of an endocrine condition.

I was convinced there was an underlying concern that was creating this condition. Through research and study, I discovered that my abnormal lab values were likely related to exposure to solvents found in cleaning solutions often used in hospital settings and other work environments. At the time, I also used household cleaning products containing chemicals. In addition, my health was negatively affected by the stressors of moving and maintaining both my work and family life. My health provider’s advice included products with more synthetics. This was a wake-up call! I had to find out WHY this was happening to me!

Evidence Brings Confidence!

I admit it – I am a research junkie! I studied aromatherapy history and reviewed the research. I started using a couple of essential oils for my specific concerns based on the evidence. My energy levels improved, with the health gains confirmed by my lab results. My confidence grew and I started to share more with my friends and colleagues, who excitedly related the benefits they saw after using the oils.

Later, we began incorporating essential oils into our healthcare system with wonderful outcomes. Nowadays, we use essential oils daily to bring relaxation, comfort, energy and many other benefits! This evidence-based approach led to the development of the Aromatherapy for Healthy Living course!
